Description

Brooklands is a house that likely dates from the late 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of stone rubble, which is rendered and lined out at the front, and features a slurried slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. There is a gable end stack on the left side with a rendered shaft.

Originally, the house had a two-room plan, with the entrance leading directly into the room on the right. Each room was heated by a gable end stack, although the stack on the left has been removed. In the mid-19th century, a one-room plan addition was made to the left end, and a second one-room plan addition was added to the rear right in the 20th century.

The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical three-window front. All windows are two-light eight-pane casements, featuring cambered arches on the ground floor, with some early 19th-century casements that have L hinges. The door, which is from the 20th century, is set in a shallow 20th-century gabled porch, located second from the right. The left and right ends of the house are blind. The rear includes a four-pane sash window at ground floor on the right side. There is a two-storey 20th-century addition to the left with a hipped roof, and a 20th-century glazed conservatory has been added in the angle to the main range. The interior has not been inspected.
