Description

This is a pair of gate piers located at the south entrance to the road leading to Carnanton House in Mawgan-in-Pydar. They were built in the early 18th century and are made of rusticated granite ashlar. The piers have a square plan and stand about 2 meters high, lacking a plinth. They feature a moulded cornice topped with an abacus that has a ball finial.
