ST COLUMB MAJOR SW 86 SE 6/170 Pair of gate piers at SW 892635 - GV II

Pair of gate piers at the south entrance to the road leading to Carnanton House in Mawgan-in-Pydar (q.v.). Early C18. Rusticated granite ashlar. Square plan piers, about 2 metres high, without plinth. Moulded cornice, surmounted by an abacus with ball finial.
