Description

This lychgate, located approximately 30 metres south of the Church of St Piran, dates from around 1805 or possibly 1873 and incorporates 15th-century window tracery. It is constructed from granite and killas rubble, with dressed granite details. The roof is made of scantle slate and features granite-coped gable ends. The lychgate has a rectangular plan with entrances at both the front and rear, and stone benches on either side of a grid stile. The front and rear gable ends each have a central entrance with a 4-centred arch, which includes 15th-century window tracery and hoodmoulds above.
