Description

The lychgate located north-east of the Church of St. Mary was built in 1861 and is constructed from snecked stone with a Welsh slate roof, designed in the Early English style. It features a double-chamfered arch that meets the imposts, and above it, there is a steeply-pitched gable adorned with bargeboards and a billet frieze. On the left side, there is a paired-lancet window set under a round arch.

Inside the lychgate, there is an inscription on ceramic tiles that commemorates A.R. Fenwick of Netherton. The interior boasts an open timber roof supported by tie beams and arched braces.
