Description

Pethgate Court is a house that has been converted into flats, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of brick in an irregular bond and features a Welsh slate roof. The building has an L-plan layout and stands three storeys tall with four bays. The third bay contains a six-panel door set within a Tuscan entablature. The sash windows, which originally had intermediate glazing bars, are framed by architraves. There are brick string courses above each floor, and ashlar pilaster strips are present at the corners. The roof is steeply pitched and gabled, with kneelers, flat coping, and small stone stacks at the ends.

At the rear, there is a wing that displays tumbled-in brickwork in the gable. Inside, the building features an early 18th-century staircase that has a wreathed and moulded handrail, along with turned balusters that have square knops.
