Ye Old Post Office And House Attached To East

Ye Old Post Office and the attached house to the east are a pair of homes that were likely originally one house, dating from the 18th century with 19th and 20th century alterations. The buildings are constructed from rendered stone rubble and feature a slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends, while the rear slope is covered in scantle slate. There are gable end stacks with brick shafts.

The original layout is unclear, but it seems the house was divided into two, with Ye Old Post Office on the left and a smaller house on the right. The house on the right appears to have a one-room plan, heated by a gable end stack. Ye Old Post Office has one room on the left, also heated from a gable end stack, and includes a front addition from around the mid-19th century. It also has a rear service wing of one-room plan, likely from the late 19th century, while the attached house has a smaller rear service wing.

The exterior is two storeys high with an asymmetrical three-window front. Ye Old Post Office features a single-storey front addition on the left, which includes a 19th century 16-pane sash window and a porch with a glazed front and hipped glazed roof, as well as a 20th century half-glazed door on the right. The first floor has two 19th century 2-light 8-pane casements. The attached house on the right has a 20th century glazed door and a 19th century 3-light 10-pane casement at ground level, with a 19th century 2-light 8-pane casement above. At the rear, Ye Old Post Office has a two-storey rear wing with a hipped roof, featuring a late 19th century 4-pane sash window on the first floor and a two-storey 20th century addition. The attached house has a one-storey rear wing with a loft, a half-hipped end roof, and an end stack with a truncated brick shaft, along with a 19th century multi-pane window at the upper level of the rear wing. The interior is not accessible but may still have features like panelled doors.
