GV II

2 houses, formerly a coaching inn. Probably late C18-early C19. Plastered cob and rubble; rubble stack with C19 brick chimney shaft; roof is partly slate, partly corrugated asbestos, and may originally have been all thatched. Pair of adjoining 2-room plan houses facing south-west, The Post Office occupying the left (north- western) end and Old Post Office in the right (south-eastern) end. Original lobby entrance behind 2-storey porch towards left end and large axial stack serving back- to-back fireplaces. Second axial stack right of centre. 2 storeys. Overall 6- window front of various late C19 and C20 casements, most with glazing bars. Ground floor right end window (the Old Post Office) has late C19 margin panes containing coloured glass. C20 glass-sided porch. Original lobby entry left of centre is now disused. Gabled 2-storey porch has plain outer opening with flat head and benches along each side. Lobby apparently never had an external door. Disused doors off each side include C18 2-fielded panel door to left (The Post Office). The Post Office now entered from left (north-west) end.
