Description
This milestone, dating from 1764, is located 300 meters southeast of the junction of the A388 with the B3255 in Callington. It is made of granite and has a triangular shape. The milestone features incised black painted lettering in upper case with serifs, with part of the inscription curved. The inscription reads: "TO SALTASH CALLING PASSAGE -TON 9 TOWN HALL MILES HALF MILE." This milestone is part of the turnpike road leading into Callington, established under the Act of 4 George III, chapter 48.
