Description
No 8 is a shop with premises above, dating from the 1830s to 1840s. The ground floor was remodeled in the late 20th century. The building is constructed of rubblestone, with a stuccoed south front featuring rusticated quoins. It has a slate roof with gabled ends and overhanging eaves, along with brick stacks in the gable ends. The ground floor plan has been altered, and there is a passageway leading to a rear alley. The building has three storeys and a regular three-window front. The ground floor features a large late 20th-century glazed shop front, with a passageway to the right. The first floor has three 12-pane sash windows with eared architraves, while the second floor has three 6-over-6 pane sashes, also with eared architraves. The sashes do not have horns and are made with crown glass. The interior has not been inspected, and the building is included for its group value.
