Description

No. 136, King Street is a shop with accommodation dating to around 1830. The building is constructed of red brick and has a roof covered with concrete tiles. It is three storeys high and features a three-window facade. The ground-floor shop front is modern, with plate-glass windows. The first floor has three two-over-two sash windows, recessed and set beneath gauged skewback arches. The second floor has three similar sash windows with six-over-six glazing bars. A timber eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. The roof is gabled, with an internal gable-end stack on the north side. Later 20th-century additions are present at the rear. The ground floor interior is of late 20th-century design. The upper floors were not inspected. The building is included on the list for its group value.
