Description
No. 33 King Street is a house that has been converted into a restaurant. It dates from the mid-18th century and was originally part of a larger building that was divided in the 1880s. The exterior is made of stuccoed and colourwashed brick, with a slate roof. The front facing King Street features rusticated quoins and has two storeys plus a dormer attic, arranged in a two-window range.
On the St George's Plain side, there are two doorways with a late 20th-century top-hung casement window between them. The left doorway leads to No. 4 St George's Plain, which has a half-glazed door framed by a moulded surround decorated with roundels in the upper corners and a hood above. The first floor has two late 20th-century top-hung casements for lighting. The roof is gabled, with a hipped corner and two flat-topped dormers that contain casements, along with a ridge stack.
The King Street elevation has two bays, with a ground floor featuring a late 20th-century shop front that includes a central door and two top-hung late 20th-century casements above. The interior has not been inspected.
