Description

This is a shop with premises above, dating from around the early 18th century. The front is whitewashed and rendered, with a steeply pitched slate roof and gabled ends. There are brick and stone stacks; the stone stack on the left-hand gable end has a shortened brick shaft. The building is two rooms deep and has been altered. It is three storeys high with an attic, and has a regular four-window front. The ground floor has two wide 20th-century shop windows, with a glazed double door in the centre. The first floor has two four-pane sashes on the left and a double four-pane sash on the right. Above these are four more four-pane sashes. A dentilled eaves cornice runs along the top. There are two gabled 19th-century dormers with two-light casements and wavy barge boards. The sides are slate-hung. A two-storey extension is located at the rear. The interior has not been inspected. This building holds group value, contributing to the character of the street.
