Description

Trevor House is a pair of houses, later adapted as a public house and shop, and now a house and shop with premises above and to the rear. The main section of the building dates from the early 19th century, with a rear wing to number 11 that is probably from the early 18th century. The front is of stuccoed softwood timber frame construction, with an asbestos slate roof, gabled ends, and deep overhanging eaves. The front facade is three storeys high and features four windows. The ground floor on the left has an entrance with a six-panelled door and a semi-circular fanlight, set slightly back. To the right are two 16-pane sashes with small horns and exposed sash boxes. To the right again is an early 20th-century shop front with three lights, thin moulded pilasters, and a partly glazed door. Above the shop front is a moulded fascia panel. The first floor has a mid-19th century replacement tripartite sash on the left, topped with a moulded cornice resting on corbelled brackets. To the right is likely an original early 19th-century bow window of three lights with sashes. The second floor features four 12-pane sashes, with the top light of each being four panes, and small horns. Exposed sash boxes are present. To the rear of number 11, on the right, there is a rubblestone wing with a large square rubblestone stack in the gable end. The interior has not been inspected. This building exhibits group value.
