Description

No 48 is a shop with premises above, dating from the early to mid 19th century. It features a painted slate hung front and a slate roof with gable ends. The building is three storeys high and has a symmetrical one-window front. The ground floor retains an intact 19th-century shop front with cast iron columns and a 20th-century glazed door at the center. Above this, there is a dentilled cornice on the fascia board. The first floor has a central late 19th-century four-pane sash window supported by corbelled brackets and a projecting moulded cornice. There is a tripartite sash window above, which has no glazing bars. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its value to the townscape.
