Description

No 8 High Street is a shop dating from around 1800. It has a rendered exterior, a slate roof, and a brick chimney stack. The building features a classical facade and stands three stories tall with two bays. The first floor has sash windows with glazing bars set in reveals, while the upper floors have 20th-century casement windows with two lights. The 19th-century shopfront includes three-quarters glazed and recessed double doors topped with a fanlight. Each side of the entrance and shop window has segmental arch heads supported by cast iron columns with a barley-sugar design and floral decoration at the base and capital. Note that the window and column on the right side have been removed.
