Description

The Post Office, built around 1850, features a limestone rubble construction with a Bath stone facade and a slate roof, complete with a coped verge and an ashlar stack on the right. The building is three stories high and has three bays. The modern shopfront is topped with a narrow dentil cornice. The original windows include 12-light sash windows on the first floor and 9-light sash windows on the second floor, both set in moulded architraves. The first-floor windows have moulded hoods supported by shaped consoles, and there is a string course at each sill level. The building is finished with a moulded and dentillated eaves cornice.
