Description
This is a three-storey house, likely dating from the early 18th century, which is now a shop with storage above. It was extended and remodelled in the later 18th or early 19th century. The building is constructed of brick and has a plain-tiled roof. The front elevation features a good late 19th-century shop front with moulded console brackets supporting a panelled fascia, which is carried on panelled pilasters on either side. The shop front has a recessed central entrance. Above the shop front are 12-pane sash windows with flat stone lintels and painted stone cills. The gables are coped with moulded kneelers, and there is a deep moulded wood eaves cornice. Truncated end wall stacks are present. A parallel brick range to the rear is a somewhat later addition. The interior has not been inspected. The building is of group value due to its contribution to the character of the Market Place.
