Description
No. 24 Market Place is a house that has been converted into a shop with living accommodation above. It dates from the early 18th century and is constructed from roughly coursed and squared rubble that has been painted. The building has a plain-tiled roof and stands three storeys tall with a two-window range.
The shop front has been inserted and features a late 19th-century fascia, although the windows are from the 20th century. Above the shop front, there are two 3-light plain chamfered mullioned windows on each floor. A plain string course runs between the first and second storeys, and there is a moulded stone eaves cornice. The gables are coped and have moulded kneelers, with the left gable being cut by the adjacent No. 23 Market Place. The building also has end wall stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
