Description
The barn located approximately 30 metres north-east of Bosigran Farmhouse is likely from the 18th century, though it may be older, and was remodeled in the 19th century. It is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings and features a scantle slate roof with gable ends. The building has a long rectangular plan, with a shippon on the ground floor that has been converted into loose boxes, and a granary above, which includes central opposing winnowing doorways. The exterior is two storeys high, with the north front displaying doorways towards the left and right, flanked by two ventilator windows. The first floor has a blocked opening above the left-hand doorway and a central loading/winnowing doorway. Most openings at the rear are blocked. The barn is part of an unspoiled coastal hamlet situated within the ancient field system of this area of Cornwall.
