Description

Dundry House is a house located on Kingsdown Parade in Bristol, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of stucco with limestone dressings, and the roof is not visible. The house has a double-depth plan and is designed in a mid-Georgian style, featuring three storeys and a basement with a three-window range. The front has a parapet with coped gables and a regular two-window range on the left that includes a central door, as well as a separately spaced one-window range on the right.

The doorway is adorned with large brackets supporting a canopy, a plate-glass fanlight, and a six-panel door with the top panels glazed. To the left, there is a 19th-century canted bay window with horned eight-over-eight pane sashes, flanked by six-over-six pane sashes and topped with a dentil cornice. The upper floors have six-over-six pane sashes with thick bars. The windows on the right side are slightly lower, featuring a semicircular-arched sash on the ground floor and an eight-over-eight pane sash above. The rear of the house presents a symmetrical elevation with outer canted ground-floor bays.

The interior has not been inspected. The property also includes attached front area railings on either side of the door steps and a rubble garden wall on the left return.
