Description

This is a house dating from circa 1790, located on Granby Hill in Clifton, Bristol. Constructed in stucco with limestone dressings, the building features gable stacks and a pantile mansard roof. It follows a double-depth plan and is in a late Georgian style. The two-storey and attic house has a symmetrical three-window facade, incorporating pilaster strips to a moulded coping. A semicircular-arched doorway is topped with a plate-glass fanlight, and features a six-panel door with flush lower panels. The ground floor has two-over-two-pane sash windows with margin panes, while the first floor has eight-over-eight-pane sashes; the central sash is blocked and replaced by a small 20th-century casement. Two small raking dormers are set into the roof. The interior includes an entrance hall with a dogleg staircase featuring column newels and stick balusters, panelled shutters, and six-panel doors.
