Description
The gates, piers, and railings of Avon View Cemetery date from the late 19th century. They are constructed from heavy, rock-faced Pennant rubble, limestone ashlar, and feature cast-iron gates and railings. The main entrance consists of two pairs of piers topped with trefoil gablet caps, connected by curved low walls, and is adorned with elaborate Gothic ironwork gates. There is a smaller eastern entrance with a pair of piers and a gate. The cemetery wall has chamfered coping and the wall and railings extend approximately 300 meters along Beaufort Road from the eastern entrance.
