Description
The gate piers, gates, and attached dwarf walls and railings at the front of Avon House date from the early 19th century. They are made of limestone ashlar for the gate piers and dwarf walls, with cast-iron gates and spear-headed railings. The gate piers feature recessed panels on each side, a key pattern frieze, and weathered arched tops. The cast-iron gates also have spear-heads and a key pattern. The dwarf walls have weathered coping and spear-headed railings, with a similar gate in the railings to the right. The walls and railings extend approximately 6 meters to the left of the main gates and continue to the right of the main gates, returning to the right side of Avon House.
