Description
The Unicorn Public House is a pair of houses that have been converted into a public house, dating from the early 18th century. The building features painted ashlar and a stone slate roof with a coped verge on the left side. It is two stories tall with an attic and has a symmetrical front with four windows. The entrance door is located in a 20th-century flat-roofed extension that is of no special interest. There are blocked doors at the center of each half, which have staff-moulded cases. On either side of these doors are 16-pane sash windows. A string course runs along the first floor, above which are four 2-light cyma-mullioned windows with casements. The attic features another string course and two Cotswold-type gables, each with one 2-light flat mullioned window and coped verges with saddlestones. The rear of the building is constructed of rubblestone and has a double-Roman tiled roof, along with a single-storey extension featuring a 2-span gabled roof that dates to the 19th century. The interior has not been inspected.
