Description
The piers, gates, and railings of St George's Public Library were constructed in 1898 by Sir Frank Wills. They feature banded Cattybrook brick and limestone ashlar piers that are connected by snecked Pennant rubble walls and railings. There are two gateways, each consisting of four piers linked by curved walls and connected by a low wall. The piers are adorned with a fluted frieze and have dentil cornice caps topped with ball finials.
