Description
The gates and walls to the west side of the cemetery date from around 1860. They are constructed from rock-faced stone, partly rendered, and feature ashlar dressings and iron railings. The low rock-faced walls have a chamfered plinth, triangular-sectioned copings, and simple scrolled railings at the top, which are positioned between stepped sections of the walls. In the center, there are two pairs of rendered piers with large triangular-sectioned copings topped by fleur de lys finials, flanked by curved rendered walls. The walls step down towards the center and include sections of railings similar to those on the adjacent walls. The plain iron gates in the center also have fleur de lys finials. This structure is included for its group value.
