Description
The Schoolhouse is a picturesque stucco building dating from around 1840. It features a two-storey stucco gable facing the road, with a sash window on each floor that has a Tudor hoodmould. The building has overhanging eaves and pierced bargeboards, along with a bluish brick chimney located on the ridge. A lean-to porch, which also has pierced bargeboard, includes a weatherboarded half-gable with a decorative fringe above a recessed panelled door. The flanks and rear of the building are constructed from pinkish brick, with shallow segmental heads above the ground floor windows and a first-floor window that rises into the eaves. The Village School and Schoolhouse, located on Holdenhurst Road, are part of a group.
