Description

House, formerly the village school, dated 1841. The house is built with colourwashed roughcast render on walls, and has slate roofs. It is constructed in a picturesque style. The main rectangular block features two slightly projecting gables, and a closed gabled porch projecting from the centre. A further block extends to the rear, its ridge parallel to the main block. The house is one storey with attics. The windows are diamond-leaded casements, apparently mostly 20th-century replacements. The porch has a pointed-arched doorway with a dripstone and studded panelled double doors. All gables have deep verges with pierced decorative bargeboards and finials; the underside of the porch verge incorporates pebble decoration. A central timber bell-cote is situated on the main ridge. Two chimney stacks are present, each with three rendered octagonal shafts.
