Description
The Old School is a building that dates back to 1840 and has since been converted into a village hall and house. It features a stucco exterior over red brick and a slate roof, with two stucco ridge stacks. The structure is single storey with a three-bay central section, flanked by two-storey, single-bay projecting gabled wings, each adorned with a pediment at the gable. The central section includes two tripartite cross casements.
On the left side, there is a projecting late 19th-century porch that has a plank door in its side wall and a pair of sash windows in the front wall. Above the porch is a re-set plaque that reads "School 1840". The outer single bays each contain a doorway; the right side has a 20th-century glazing bar door, while the left side features a panelled door. Above the right doorway is a single 20th-century glazing bar casement, and to the left is a single two-light glazing bar casement. The pediments of the wings include single paterae.
