Description

Ivy Farmhouse and Cottage is a building that dates from the late 18th century and the early and late 19th century, with the earlier constructions sharing a roof. It is made of red brick and has a pantile roof, featuring a left gable and a single ridge red brick stack. The building has dogtooth eaves and the left two bays are set on a plinth, with a blue brick band at the base. The 18th-century section is three storeys high and has three bays, with a central doorway that has a panelled door flanked by single glazing bar tripartite Yorkshire sashes. There are two similar sashes on both the first and second floors, and all ground and first floor openings are under segmental arches.

To the left is the early 19th-century two-storey, two-bay section, which features a doorway with three steps leading up to a panelled door with a traceried overlight. To the left of this doorway is a single tripartite glazing bar sash. Both ground floor openings here are also under segmental arches, with a single glazing bar sash above and a single tripartite glazing bar sash to the left.

Slightly set back to the right is a late 19th-century two-storey, two-bay extension made of red brick and pantile, which has a right gable stack and dentil eaves. This section includes a doorway with a panelled and part-glazed door, and to the right is a single glazing bar casement. Above this is a single small fixed light, with all openings under segmental arches. To the right of the extension is a lean-to with a shaped parapet that conceals the roof line, featuring a single altered doorway with a wooden door. There is also a lean-to extension at the rear.
