Description
Number 16, known as New House, is a substantial farmhouse built in the late 17th century. It is constructed of brick and has two storeys with dormers. The front of the house is symmetrical and features five windows, with segment-headed windows on the ground floor. Above the door, which has six fielded panels with the top two being glazed, there is a flat hood supported by console brackets. The casement windows are fitted with square leaded panes. The roof is tiled and has a lower fringe of three courses of stone slates, along with a chimney located on the gable end. The dormers have hipped roofs.
To the west, there is a lower extension that is likely from the same period, featuring one window on each floor, both with flat heads. This extension has a similar roof with a stone fringe and a gable end chimney, set on brick kneelers. The gable wall displays blue headers, and the eaves are made of stepped bricks with one course of blue headers. There is also a rear wing that is at a right angle to the main house, which is one storey tall and includes a dormer.
