Description

Three tombstones are located in the churchyard of St John in Holdenhurst Village. To the north of the church is an elegant Adamish altar tomb for John Dean, who died in 1794. This tomb features Corinthian corner pilasters and a fluted frieze between them. There are inscription panels with land in the corners and on the long sides above the center. The tomb has a moulded flat top and is surrounded by good railings with spears and urns. To the south of the church, there are two gravestones by Eric Gill, dedicated to Gerald Peel, who died in 1910, and Gerald Grahame Peel, who died in 1937.
