Description
A 17th-century farmhouse, largely refaced and extended in the 1815. The farmhouse is constructed mainly of brick with a tile roof. It has an irregular plan, with a one-and-two-storey element and an attic, and four windows facing the front. The roof is half-hipped at the north-west end, incorporating one gabled dormer and two gables. The south-east side of the roof is gabled and low-pitched, covered in slate. The brickwork exhibits mixed bonding, using both English and Flemish patterns, with a first-floor band to the later, 1815 section. Window and door openings are defined by one cambered arch and four rubbed flat arches. Casement windows are present on one side, while the south-east elevation features triple sash windows. The south-east gable displays a "Tudor" style stack, and partial exposure of the original timber framing can be seen within. The north-west gable also reveals timber framing in its upper portion. The rear elevation has an oatslide roof with two dormers, and the lower section is covered with slate.
