Description

Cricket Field Cottages, a pair of cottages, date from the 17th century and were refronted and extended in the late 18th century, with 20th-century rear additions. The building is timber-framed with a rendered front and a thatched roof. The front, facing northwest, has two storeys and three windows. The front wall is plain, while the northeast gable features painted brickwork. The southwest gable has an exposed frame with rendered infill above a painted brick ground floor and a tapered stack. The rear additions are flat-roofed and made of brick. The windows are casements. The entrance to No. 2 includes a finial above a concave metal canopy supported by side poles, leading to a plain doorway with a six-panelled door, two of which are glazed at the top.
