Description

Parson's Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations and additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed from limestone and sandstone rubble, rendered, and features a double Roman tiled roof with brick gable stacks and pantiles at the rear. The building is in an L-plan and has been enlarged in the 19th century. It stands two storeys high and has five windows, all of which are 2-light 19th century casements with earlier wooden ovolo-moulded mullions and surrounds. The central entrance is a 19th century gabled porch with bargeboards and double doors. Above the lintels of the ground and first floor windows is a weathered string, with rubble exposed above the upper string, and the walls are battered.

On the right side, there are two 2-pane attic lights. The 2-storey rear wing has a lean-to with a 2-light casement and a door, as well as a 2-light casement on the first floor, and an attached single-storey rear outhouse. The left side features two single lights in the attic and a single-storey addition at the rear with a glazed gable end and door; the left side of the rear wing has a 2-light casement under the eaves. The rear has a two-span roof over the enlarged wing, with the gable end on the left displaying ground and first floor 2-light casements with segmental heads. On the right, there are two single lights at ground and first floor, also with segmental heads, and a gable stack. The rear of the single-storey addition to the right includes a door and a 2-light casement. The interior has not been inspected.
