Description
Church Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations and additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is built of random limestone rubble, which was formerly rendered, and features a double Roman tiled roof with brick gable stacks, while the rear is pantiled. The building has an L-plan that has been later infilled. It stands two storeys high and has four windows; the first floor features all 6-pane sashes with a wider central pane and a relieving arch. The ground floor has three 20th-century windows with a relieving arch, and there is a 20th-century porch with a door that also has a relieving arch. To the right, there is a single-storey addition.
The left return shows a line of a former addition with a pitched roof, a 20th-century window at the first floor left, and an attic lean-to to the left that has a 3-light casement with a brick segmental head. The right return includes a 20th-century attic window. The rear wing to the left features a 2-light cellar window with iron stanchions and a small door with a dripstone; the upper ground floor has a 4-light wooden casement with chamfered mullions and a hood mould, along with a greenhouse attached to the left. The rear of the main house has a 19th-century addition that continues the pitch of the main roof and is pantiled, with two 20th-century windows and a door that has a segmental brick head. There are two gables above, both with stacks, on the left side. The interior has not been inspected.
