Description
Guy's Farm is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with 19th-century windows. It is constructed of rubble and features a double Roman tile roof, along with three brick stacks, two of which are located on coped verges. The building has a near-symmetrical main block with a projecting stair turret at the rear. To the right gable, there is a lower out-building, and to the left gable, a lofty lean-to. The farmhouse is three storeys high and has three windows.
On the ground floor, there is one 12-pane sash window and two margin bar sashes. The first floor has three margin bar sashes, and under the eaves, there are three very small 2-light casements. The left gable features a 2-light casement window in the attic. Between the second and third bays, a part-glazed 19th-century panelled door is accessed by a short flight of plain stone steps. A very small plain glass fire or stair light is located between the first and second bays. In the left extension, at first floor height, there is a 2-leaf plank loading door, and the return of this lean-to has a panelled front, suggesting it was once an open storage space. The lower wing on the right has a broad plank door and a 2-light wood casement, beneath a 2-leaf plank loading door that breaks through the eaves line and has a raking roof. The interior has not been inspected but may hold interest.
