JAMES STREET WEST 656-1/0/0 (North side) Prospect Cottage 05/08/75 II

Detached terrace house. Early C19. MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, double Roman tile roof. PLAN: Double depth narrow frontage house, with central valley. EXTERIOR: Two floors, one window, large twenty-pane sash to segmental head above sixteen-pane with flush surround and keystone, these in slightly stepped forward central bay. To right flush four-panel door under plain fanlight, on one step, and to left corresponding blind arched recess. Listel, frieze, cornice, blocking course and parapet. Left return plain, with coped parapets, and tall two-stage front stack, that to rear has been cropped. Front roof hipped to right. INTERIOR: Not inspected. Modest survivor, to rear of grand houses in New King Street.
