Description

No. 69 is a terrace house located on Lyncombe Hill, dating from the early 19th century with a late 19th-century addition. The building is constructed of limestone ashlar and features a slate roof. It has a symmetrical single depth range set on a steeply sloping site, with an extra storey at the rear and a mansard roof on the upper slope.

The house has two storeys, an attic, and a lower ground floor, with three windows and two small raking dormers above twelve-pane sash windows. The ground floor windows have sunk surrounds, while the basement area features sixteen-pane windows. A central square porch, added in the late 19th century, has an entablature with a pierced balustrade, and it leads to a six-panel door with a fanlight set in a raised band with a keystone on imposts, accompanied by a small arched light to the right.

The ground floor is channelled under a platband, and the building includes a lintel, frieze, cornice, blocking course, and parapet. There are two ashlar stacks at each gable end. The rear of the house has two high narrow dormers above two plain sash windows and a blind opening at the second floor. There are also two plain windows and a central pair of margin pane glazed doors with an elliptical fanlight and a tent hood, all leading to a full-width railed balcony supported by brackets, with sash windows on the lower ground floor. The interior has not been inspected.
