Description
Autotype Matmos Ltd is a late 16th century timber-framed building that was originally two cottages and is now used as offices. The building was refronted in the 19th century, featuring a ground floor made of painted brick and a first floor that is tile hung, topped with a tiled roof. It stands two storeys high with attics and has two windows on the front, along with one gabled dormer and two casement windows. A modillion cornice adds to its architectural detail. Inside, the building retains jowled posts and arched braces, along with an old plank door and a winder staircase leading from the first to the second floor. The second floor boasts wide oak floorboards and a spine beam with lamb's tongue stops.
