Description
Crundens is a house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with a refronting that occurred in the early to mid-19th century. The ground floor is made of painted brick, while the upper floors are plastered, topped with a Horsham stone slab roof. The building has two to three storeys, featuring a gabled wing that faces the street and an additional bay to the east.
There are two windows on the upper floors: a sliding casement in the attic on the second floor, a six-paned sash window in a moulded architrave on the first floor to the east, and a tripartite sash window to the west, both with horns. The ground floor showcases a central paired doorcase with moulded architraves, featuring two panelled doors flanked by three-light splayed bays. The windows on the ground floor are arranged in a 4:12:4 pattern, with the eastern window also having horns. A tiled penticed weather-hood extends the entire length of the front. The house has a massive brick external stack and thick unchamfered beams on the ground floor.
