Description
This building, known as the NSS Newsagents premises occupied by Stuart Newnham, dates from around 1840 and is located on the south side of South Street in Cuckfield. It is a two-storey structure finished in stucco with a slate roof. The facade features four irregular sash windows that have verticals only and are framed by moulded architraves. At the top, there is a parapet with stone coping. To the east, there is a 19th-century splayed shop front that includes ornamental cresting above the fascia, while the shop front to the west is from the 20th century. The building also has two doorcases, each with rectangular fanlights and six-fielded panelled doors.
