Description
Number 1 on Tower Street is an 18th-century building featuring a tiled gabled roof with a pentice at the back. It has a dentilled cornice beneath the eaves and is constructed from painted brick. The façade includes three sash windows with intact glazing bars above, while modern plate-glass windows have been inserted in frames on either side of the doorway. The entrance door consists of six panels set within panelled reveals, framed by a doorcase with Doric pilasters, a pediment, and a blocked semi-circular fanlight. There is a passage through the house located in the north corner, with walls made of timber-framed construction. The door leading to the passageway is in two sections, featuring moulded panels in the upper half. Numbers 1 to 6 on Tower Street form a group.
