Description

These are an early 19th-century pair of semi-detached houses, forming part of a terrace extending from number 11 to number 16 on South Pallant. The houses have tiled roofs with a hip at the south end and a half-hip to the north. There is one flat-roofed dormer window to the south, and a wider, modern dormer window higher up on the roof to the north. A small brick dentilled eaves cornice runs along the top.

Number 11 has one window bay, while number 12 has two. Number 11 is constructed of red brick with grey headers alternating, with the ground floor partly stuccoed. Sash windows with square heads sit within segmental arches, with flush boxes, to number 11. Glazing bars remain intact on the first floor. The front door consists of four flush panels, the top two cut away and glazed, behind a semi-circular arched doorway with a shallow stuccoed frame and a keystone. Number 12 is built with grey headers and red brick vertical panels, incorporating lacing courses. The windows in number 12 are placed slightly higher in the wall than those in number 11. They are sash windows with square heads; the upper windows have flush boxes. The lower windows have shallow reveals and stuccoed voussoirs with keystones, with a segmental relieving arch above one window. The front door at the northern end of number 12 has a similar design: six panels, the top two cut away and glazed, two raised and fielded panels, and two flush panels, with panelled reveals. The doorway features grooved pilasters, grooved panels, and a projecting cornice.
