Description
Number 67 High Street is a house that has been subdivided into a house and a restaurant. It dates from the early 19th century and has been altered in the 20th century. The building is finished in stucco and features a hipped slate roof. It has two or three storeys and six windows facing Maltravers Street. The High Street elevation has a moulded eaves cornice.
On the left side of the Maltravers Street elevation, there are two storeys with three 12-pane sash windows set in reveals on the first floor, and three round-headed windows on the ground floor. The right side has three storeys with irregularly spaced 20th-century casement windows. The central entrance features a 20th-century door with a Neo-Georgian wooden pediment and Ionic columns.
Number 1 Maltravers Street, which is part of this listing, has a flight of steps leading to a six-panelled door with a semi-circular fanlight and a mid-19th century moulded hood supported on brackets. The property is also adorned with cast iron area railings that have an oval and curved lozenge design.
