Description
59 High Street is a late 17th century house. The east elevation is rendered, while the west elevation is made of tarred brick. It has a pitched and sprocketed tile roof and stands three storeys high with an attic. A prominent wooden eaves cornice adds to its character.
The ground floor features an early 19th century canted shop window with glazing bars, a 19th century door that is fully glazed in the top half, and a modern door. On the first floor, there is a mid-19th century canted bay window with double-hung sashes and glazing bars. The second floor has a flush-framed mullion and transom window that includes one iron casement and lead glazing bars in all the lights. The attic dormer is topped with a hipped tile roof and has a casement window with diagonal lead glazing bars.
