Description

This is a late 18th-century building on High Street. It is constructed of red brick with grey headers and rubbed brick voussoirs, and has a pitched slate roof. The building is three storeys high, with two ranges of double-hung sash windows on the first and second floors. The ground floor features a 19th-century shop window with glazing bars, framed by Tuscan pilasters. There are also two doors, each with a semi-circular fanlight; one door has a planked section with a louvred space between it and the fanlight, leading into a passageway. Timber framing is visible within this passageway. The building is part of a group with numbers 18 to 34 (even), along with the Castle Walls and Town Gates.
