Description

No 53, known as Sennen, is a mid-18th century building marked on an 1785 map. It was refronted in the mid-19th century. The north elevation is made of red brick, while the rest of the building features nodular flint with red brick dressings. It has a pitched tile roof and red brick chimneys. The structure is two storeys high and has three ranges of double-hung sash windows without glazing bars on the first floor. The ground floor includes two canted bay windows with Tuscan pilasters at the corners, a moulded cornice, and double-hung sashes also without glazing bars. These bay windows flank a doorway framed with a shouldered architrave, a triple keystone, and a pediment supported by consoles. The door itself has six moulded panels.

Sennen is part of a group with Nos 45 to 63 (odd), 67 to 73 (odd), and 77 to 83 (odd), as well as Nos 46 to 62 (even), along with the pavements and railings.
