Description
Blacknest Cottage is a house dating from the early 16th century, with extensions added to the rear in the 19th and 20th centuries. The cottage features a timber frame that is exposed at the ends, with red and brown brick infill, while the front is clad with red and blue brick. It has a steeply pitched, plain tiled hipped roof with end gablets. The building has a T-shaped plan and stands two storeys high, with a corbelled stack at the rear right and additional stacks at the back. On the first floor, there are two roof lights and three windows, while the ground floor has two casement windows and a flat-roofed angle bay window to the right, positioned under a tile course above the offset ground floor. The central entrance features a glazed door beneath a tile-on-edge lintel, with the main door located on the left-hand return front at an angle.
