Description
Pilgrim Cottage is a house dating from the late 16th century, with extensions from the 17th century and a brick bay added during a 19th-century restoration. The cottage features a timber frame set on a stone plinth, with brick infill that includes some brick laid in diagonal and herringbone patterns. It has a plain tiled roof that is hipped over a set-back addition on the right end, with a front stack on the left and a rear stack on the right. The building is two storeys high and consists of four framed bays, with an outshot and curved bracing to the centre right. Across the first floor, there are three late 19th-century diamond-patterned, leaded, wood mullioned casement windows. A planked door is located to the right at the angle with the addition, sheltered by a 'rustic' porch supported by wooden posts. At the rear, there is a parallel range with a lower hipped roof.
